Whether you’re looking for food, printers, wifi, meeting rooms, PCs, art, student services and more it’s all available in the Hub.
In response to student feedback, frontline student services have been integrated into one convenient Hub location to create a central support network known as Flinders Connect. By bringing together a number of student services and creating a single point of contact we aim to improve the student experience, making it easier to get answers and help. Flinders Connect is available online via flinders.edu.au/ask, over the phone 1300 354 633 or on Level 0 of the Central Library.
Flinders Connect is your first port of call for all enquiries related to admissions, enrolments, fees and scholarships, as well as transactional services such as transcripts, ID cards and parking permits for students and staff. Specialist areas including student IT support, careers and Overseas Student Health Cover – Bupa can also be found in the Flinders Connect face to face service area.
The Hub redevelopment has achieved a seamless transition between level 0 of the Library and the refurbished Union building, opening up spaces to students and drawing these two areas together so that students can research, study and relax within close reach of the resources they need. The Central Library is open 7 days a week during the academic year. View the Central Library opening hours.
Flinders University Student Association (FUSA) is the on-campus student organisation that exists for the purpose of representing students’ rights and interests. FUSA Student Assist provides advocacy services which help students with a range of academic, administrative and welfare related issues. FUSA is also responsible for social events on campus such as parties, pub-crawls and FUSA Relax Days. The Student Council and a number of Collectives representing student interests make up the representative side of FUSA. Finally, FUSA is the body responsible for assisting and helping to manage all non-sporting clubs and societies on campus. In 2016 FUSA has a brand new, state-of-the-art location on level 1 of the Hub – their essential services and social activities are now in the new heart of the Bedford Park campus. You’ll also find the Clubs Space, Queer Space and Women’s Room on the same level, managed by FUSA.
If you’re a writer, illustrator, artist, poet, designer or enjoy a good read then think about contributing and reading the student magazine Empire Times. Now in its 43rd year of publication, you can find more information at empiretimes.com.au.

The Plaza has now been lowered to the level of the original Mall allowing for easy access from Registry Road right through to the Plaza, Union Building, retail precinct, and on toward the lake using equality of access paths. Four new lifts and upgrades to existing lifts increase the vertical access paths available in the precinct. The landscaping of the southern end of the existing Union building provides an additional accessible path of travel from the Hub to Yungorrendi, Student Centre and the Lower North Ridge.
The interior design of the Hub opens up the existing buildings to provide much better access and functionality. Doorways and corridors are minimised.
Design of interior spaces uses intuitive way finding to reduce the reliance on signage.
The number of access toilets provided substantially exceeds the requirements under the code including five access toilets on the main student level of the Hub.
